Women in Profile |
1987-1991
“Women In Profile was a project initiated around the time that Glasgow’s nomination to become European City of Culture in 1990 was announced. Throughout the late 1980s Women in Profile developed a wide range of events, exhibitions and projects that culminated in a season that focused on women’s past and present cultural contributions to Glasgow.” - Glasgow Womens Library I, as co-founder, was involved in a feminist leadership role in all aspects of the season, working collaboratively with many others, principally co-founder Kate Henderson and with the team that lead on the development of Castlemilk Womanhouse; Rachael Harris, Julie Roberts and Cathy Wilkes. |
