My chapter, Claiming Space and being Brave: Activism, Agency and Art in the Making of a Women’s Museum first appeared in vol 1. of Feminisms and Museums, a two volume series edited by Jenna C Ashton, Museumsetc. 2017.
“In this chapter my aim was to survey some critical instances of feminist thinking and methods that typify GWL and how decisions and actions determined by feminist values and the continual involvement and agency of women creatives have shaped the development of what is now a landmark museum in the UK.”
The chapter was then published in Ashton’s Museums and Feminism Reader, Anonymous was a Woman, published by Museumsetc., 2020.
